This branding photoshoot in Richmond VA was designed to capture the heart behind Megan’s boutique and her next season of business. When she reached out, she was stepping into a new chapter and ready for a full rebrand that felt aligned with her vision. As the owner of Citrus & Sage Boutique, she was ready for a full rebrand and a look that felt more aligned with her vision and the experience she wanted to create for her audience.
Megan chose our Social Spark package, which included both a full visual rebrand and an Instagram transformation. As our design team worked behind the scenes to refine her brand, we focused on bringing that new vision to life through a two-hour photoshoot in Richmond, VA.
Her vision was rooted in effortless, wearable style, with pieces designed to feel comfortable, high-quality, and easy to incorporate into everyday life. Although her boutique is based in Norfolk, VA, she chose Richmond for her branding session because our studio is based here and we were able to guide her through locations that perfectly aligned with her brand aesthetic, creating a fresh and dynamic set of images that reflect this next chapter of her business.
Her photoshoot was thoughtfully planned to blend strategy with creativity. We started in the studio, explored VMFA Sculpture Garden, and ended in a Parousia Coffee in Scott’s Addition. Each location added something unique to her story.
From the beginning, the goal was to create images that feel as inviting and real as her brand.
About This Branding Photoshoot in Richmond, VA
Megan is the kind of boutique owner who deeply understands her audience because she lives a similar lifestyle.
As a full-time teacher, she knows what it feels like to want outfits that are both put-together and easy to wear. Her boutique reflects that balance beautifully. Every item is chosen with intention, focusing on comfort, quality, and versatility.
Her brand is about more than clothing. She wants women to feel confident in what they wear, find simple styling inspiration, and feel like they are part of something welcoming and genuine.
That purpose guided the decisions we made throughout this branding photoshoot in Richmond VA.

Branding Photos for Boutique Owners
Branding photos for boutique owners are not just about showing products. They are about creating a visual experience your audience can connect with.
For Megan, this session was about more than just showcasing her clothing. It was about creating space for her to step fully into her brand and have images that reflect her as the face behind Citrus & Sage.
She wanted photos that felt clean, cohesive, and personal, with a strong focus on capturing her presence and personality. Because she closely relates to her ideal client, we were able to naturally weave her boutique pieces into the session in a way that feels lived-in and relatable rather than overly styled.
Instead of treating this like a traditional product-focused shoot, we approached it as intentional content creation, prioritizing genuine moments and strong, versatile images of Megan while allowing her products to support and enhance the story.
Every outfit, prop, and location was chosen to give her a variety of images she can use across her website and social media. Whether she is sharing outfit ideas, highlighting accessories, or giving a behind-the-scenes look at her business, she now has content that supports all of it.

Highlights from This Shoot
We began in the studio, where the environment felt calm and minimal. This gave us the perfect setting to highlight her clothing on a rack, keeping the backdrops clean and allowing the pieces to stand out. We intentionally captured a few clothing rack hero images that she can use across her website for a polished and cohesive look.
From there, Megan styled outfits, created flat lays, and showcased accessories and gift items that are especially popular at her pop-ups.

Next, we headed to the VMFA, where the setting added depth and texture. The architecture and natural light created a more elevated feel. Megan moved through the space naturally, and some of the best moments came from those in-between interactions that allowed the images to feel more effortless and real life.

Our final stop was Parousia Coffee in Scott’s Addition. This part of the session felt relaxed and familiar. Sitting with a coffee, adjusting outfits, and being in thought between shots created images that truly reflect her everyday life. These are often the moments that resonate most with her audience.
Throughout the shoot, we incorporated multiple outfits from her boutique and highlighted some of her bestselling accessories. These details helped tell a fuller story of her brand.
By the end of the session, she had a gallery that not only looked cohesive but felt aligned with who she is and what she offers.

Why Branding Photography Matters
One of the biggest shifts that happens after a branding session is clarity.
When you have intentional images, showing up online becomes much easier. You are no longer guessing what to post or how to present your brand. You already have content that reflects your business in a thoughtful and consistent way.
For Megan, these images give her the ability to connect with her audience, share styling inspiration, and grow her boutique with a new found confidence.
